Magnolia Plantation Part 1

On Friday we went to Magnolia Plantation.  It is located on the Ashley River (yes, my sister has a river, and I thought it was funny) and used to grow rice before the Civil War.
The plantation was beautiful!

This is the Ashley River.

We took a boat ride on where the old rice fields were. It was very interesting to listen about the process of getting the fresh water from the Ashley River to the field happened.
It was fun to see all the wild life.

The best part was looking for alligators in the grasses.

But even looking for alligators wasn't as neat as playing with my little sister.
Sometimes the alligators were hard to spot because they would be covered in the green algae.

Charleston, SC

It seemed like we hadn't gone on a trip forever, so during my fall break at preschool, we went to Charleston, South Carolina.  On Wednesday night we drove Augusta, and then on Thursday we finished our driving.  We went into the Historic District first which is right on the ocean.
It was fun to watch the dolphins in the harbor.
Then we went to Las Palmas Beach for a bit.
Ashley did not like the wind.
Right after Mom took this picture, I poured the muddy water on Dad's head.
My favorite part about vacations is staying in hotels.  Dad sleeps by me in the bed and I snuggle up to him all night.  Nothing could be better.
